Cynthia was born on January 3, 1954, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Edwin and Marguerite (Taft) Lee. On June 20, 1971, she married Richard “Dick” Carl in Phoenix. Their marriage was a lifelong love story, and Cynthia often referred to him as the love of her life. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2023.

For more than 35 years, Cynthia worked at Walmart in Platteville, where she became known for her friendly personality and genuine enjoyment of visiting with customers and co-workers. She formed many lasting friendships throughout her years there.

As a young woman, Cynthia spent countless hours with her beloved grandmother, Daisy Gill, whose influence helped shape the person she became. Together they camped in the beautiful Oak Creek Canyon near Sedona, Arizona, and enjoyed horseback riding. Cynthia's love of horses continued after her marriage, and she rode her cherished horse, Lady, until she began raising her family. She also enjoyed caring for neighborhood children through her daycare services.

Cynthia found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid reader who loved movies, birdwatching, antiquing, garage sales, writing, and crocheting. She was a member of the Platteville Old House Enthusiasts Club and had a special affection for Victorian architecture, history, and décor. She especially treasured holidays and family gatherings, taking great pride in bringing loved ones together.

One of Cynthia's proudest accomplishments was earning her GED, a goal she had postponed for many years while dedicating herself to marriage, motherhood, and family. Her determination and perseverance in achieving that milestone reflected the strength and character that defined her life.

She is survived by her four children, Ardith (Sandra Randazzo) Carl, Alivia Carl, Andre (Jacob McNatt) Carl, and Aleda Kirschbaum; nine grandchildren, Ashlyne, Sidney, Kameron, Cynthia, Sid, El, Gwenyth, Logan, and Austin; two great-grandchildren, Eversyn and Amelia; her sister, Linda Nuss; her brother, Randy (Tammy) Lee; her brother-in-law, John Thomas; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Richard, Cynthia was preceded in death by her son, Adam Carl; her grandson, Dominic Carl; her parents; her grandparents, Daisy and Guy Gill; her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Ann Lee; and her sister, Jean Thomas.

Cynthia will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, love of family, and the kindness she shared with everyone she met. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the many lives she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, those who loved her find comfort in knowing she is once again reunited with Richard, Adam, Dominic, and the many others she cherished who went before her.
