I met Mark while in the graduate program at The University of Cincinnati College of Engineering. he was a studious overachiever, and was engaged in groundbreaking research. After the work was done, we found time to attendance of Reds games and comedy clubs. He was a good friend who will be missed. Rest well, my friend, and may the Almighty continue to watch over Lynn and the family.

I knew Mark as a colleague at UW-Platteville and through St Mary’s church and school including Sunday basketball games, winter weekends at the Dells, and card club. Mark was a great friend with a great family. One day at work he stopped by to say he was retiring due to early onset Alzheimer’s. At the time I didn’t really know what that meant. The journey was harsh, but the silver lining is the devotion from Lynn and the kids. It was a true love story. RIP my good friend.

Mark was a fantastic teacher and mentor. I had the opportunity to be in 5 of his classes and he had a huge impact on my growth as a geotechnical engineer. I think of him often when I work. He will be missed.

Mark was a good man; I enjoyed working with him at UW-Platteville when we both served on the Executive Council. A great, down-to-earth guy and very student-focused. My condolences to his family.

I was a colleague of Mark's at UW-Platteville and a family friend through St Mary's church where our kids also went to school. We had many great conversations about teaching, kids, family, and more and many fun times at basketball games, Christmas programs, winter weekends in the Dells, card club, and more. I particularly remember one day when Mark came to my office and told me he was retiring early because of early onset alzheimers. I really didn't know what that meant at the time. Watching Lyn and the family take care of Mark during his journey with this disease has been an inspirational love story. RIP my friend.
