Sorry for your loss. I always heard good things about him from everyone, but never had the pleasure of meeting him.

My memories of Reza are many...from our initial meeting when I arrived to UW-Platteville as a freshman and was warmly greeted by him. He was my mother’s cousin and my academic advisor but very quickly became a trusted friend who made my student life so much more interesting by introducing me to various aspects of American culture, which included, of course, an intro to American politics and government. What I enjoyed the most during that time was getting to know and becoming friends with his wife, Gloria, an exceptionally generous, loving, compassionate, kind woman totally devoted to her family and friends. For many years I had the privilege to be included in Reza and Gloria’s lavish Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter dinners, enjoying the warmth of family life and Gloria’s fabulous cooking with Farzad, Farshad, Farnaz, and Faryad, and Reza at the head of the table, carving the meat. The tradition continued after my marriage and the inclusion of Shiv, my parents and our sons Darius and Shaun. There are too many memories to write about but I will always remember the friendship we shared all of these years and the genuine pleasure Reza always showed at seeing me and my family.
