Calvin Bendorf

March 22, 2026. He once told me that he & my dad Lyle Bendorf were the closest of the 10 siblings. My dad gave Uncle Calvin an old Briggs & Stratton engine. Calvin gave it to me many years ago. It had a couple cast iron breaks on it that did not affect its running. I kept it a couple years then sold it for $35.00. I never started it. I think my Dad & Mom I think used it to pump water if the windmill wasn’t running. When o was 6 or 8 years old I stayed with him @ the Stitzer farm. He let me sleep in. I used to drive his M Farmal & he would load the bales on the wagon behind the New Holland baler. It was getting time to milk so he had me going very fast in 4th gear. I would look back @him& he would spin his fingers meaning go faster. I may have been close to 10 or 12 years old. God Love US!

The Bendorf Family, many fond memories of Calvin when I attended the Livingston Free Methodist Church, his quiet demeanor was neat to see. I even helped on the farm one summer in the hills of SW Wisconsin My sympathy to you. Fred Soman
