Obituary

Jacklyn “Jackie” Schaefer gained her angel wings on Friday, June 24th2022 after spending the day with her husband, Rusty, and three children Shawn, Shane, and Sheena.

She was born October 6, 1951 in Lancaster, WI to the late John and Pauline (Fishnick) Tobin. She married her soul mate Robert “Rusty” Schaefer in 1975 and after working at Case IH in Racine, WI for 35 years, they retired, sharing time between Sun Lakes, AZ and their Potosi, WI farm. They have 5 grandchildren, Cameron, Nash, Maverick, Austin, and Avalon.

Jackie touched the lives of everyone she met. She lived life to the absolute fullest and enjoyed boating, bowling, crafting, Harley rides, and cruising back roads in her Beamer convertible. As an avid Bears and Kesslers fan, she loved to socialize, shop, and spend time with family and friends. She was known for being loving, caring, thoughtful, soft-spoken, and non-political. Her smile was infectious, her grace warmed the room, she was truly beautiful inside and out.

Jackie is survived by her siblings, Carol Terfruchte, Daniel Tobin, and Colleen Leibfried. She was preceded in death by her sister, Arlene Pickel.

At her request, a Celebration of Life will be held July 2 at Holiday Gardens in Potosi from 2-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is assisting the family. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com

Sincere and deepest condolences to the Schaefer and Tobin families. Jackie and I were friends since grade school, cheerleaders, and "cohorts in mischief " in high school. We remained in touch. 3 years ago we had a slumber party at my house with Linda Abing and Bonnie Brandt. I will treasure memories of that night. So much laughter and ❤️ love. Such a beautiful soul. Godspeed Jackie

No words of sympathy will bring back that smile and Jackie's great laugh. We are sure there will be so many stories to keep her memory alive. Please accept our deepest sympathy. We didn't get to see Jackie often but enjoyed every chance we had to visit with her. We will keep you all in our prayers. Deb & "Sugarbear" Gary Droessler

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Jackie’s passing. What a beautiful lady who could light up a room with her smile. We had such fun working together, Friday night partying, girls night out and all the other shenanigans. I loved how you always lived in the moment. My heartfelt sympathy to Rusty, Shawn, Shane and Sheena.
