Gregory A. Cook, 61, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville, at a later time. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to the Gregory A. Cook Memorial Fund. Greg was born on June 23, 1961 in Platteville, Wisconsin, son of Jerry “Cookie” and Phyllis (Austin) Cook. He graduated from Platteville High School, class of 1979. For many years he drove truck for Faherty Recycling, Platteville. He later drove truck for Wiederholt Transport. Greg loved the outdoors hunting, fishing, and following his children, and nieces and nephews in all of their sporting events.

Greg is survived by his daughter, Kristen (Adam Rice) Cook; mother, Phyllis Cook; two sisters, Terry (Jim) Burbach, and Chris (Todd) Kirschbaum; his sister Shelly's children, Dan (Vicki) Lancaster & family, Shawn Lancaster & family, Rob (Nicole) Lancaster & family and Andrea (Jon) Reynolds & family and other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Austin; father, Jerry “Cookie” and sister Shelly Lancaster and her husband, Bruce.

Such a sweet, sweet man. I always enjoyed spending time with Greg and the whole crowd in our younger years. Such happy memories. Be at peace now Greg. My deepest sympathies and prayers to the family.

So sorry to hear about Greg's passing. To young to do that. We graduated the same year, and knew each other most of our young lives. I know he will be missed by many, and not forgotten by any. My condolences to family and friends who loved him. My prayers will include you all.
