Kenneth Henry

Kenneth Ralph Henry, age 90, of Platteville died on October 5, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Burial will be at the Lima Union Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Ken was born on November 2, 1931 in Grant County, Wisconsin, the son of Clarence and Rethel (Pritchett) Henry. He was married to Maxine Beyer on January 4, 1949 and together they had three children, Donna, Diane and Gary. On May 12, 1976, he married Moselle Friskie in Garland, Texas. He moved back to Platteville in December of 2006, where he met his very special friend, Darlene McCartney. Ken ran a service station in Platteville for many years and then drove a semi truck cross country for many years. He was a founding member of the Platteville Elks Lodge and was a member of the Platteville Volunteer Fire Department. In retirement, he enjoyed helping the Amish and friends with rides whenever they needed.

Ken is survived by his children, Donna Counselman, Diane (Charlie) Paynter and Gary (Peg Wilson) Henry; grandchildren, Sheri Rathje, Eric Counselman, Lori Ferkey, Brian Counselman, Chad Manuell, Ryan Manuell, Gary Henry, Jr. and Bobby Henry; Ken was blessed with twenty one great grandchildren; sister Delores (Joe) Faherty, brothers Stanley (Judy) Henry and Roger (Nora) Henry; step daughter Cheryl (Greg Maul) Martin, step grandson, Chad Scott and two step great grandchildren, Darlene's family members, Dave (Vicki) Pluemer, Terry (Teresa) Pluemer, Tammy (Doug Rogers) Wagner, Todd (Jodi) Bast, Tracy Bast, fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Edith Riechers, Phyllis Curkeet and Della Schaal and brothers, Edward, Harold, Wilbur, Marvin, Larry and Roland Henry.
