Kris graduated from Lancaster High School, class of 1995, where he and his team crushed the competition and went on to win the first Lancaster Football state championship, which carved a path for the future of Lancaster football, leading to multiple state championships over the next 20 years. After high school he attended Rock Valley College and UW-La Crosse to follow his passion for playing football. After the 1999 football season Kris transferred to UW-Platteville where he refocused on his education and returned to the Lancaster football program as a volunteer assistant coach. In 2014 he took a position at UW-Platteville, where he worked in Information Technical Services (ITS).

Kris found joy in coaching youth and high school sports while being an avid fan of football and hockey, if the Packers were playing Kris was watching. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and sharing his various collections of coins, Legos, and Transformers.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Kris. Kris' family, friends and especially his children, you are in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. I knew Kris for just over a year through his ITS work at UW-Platteville and it was a pleasure to work with him. I was happy to read how he was able to take his skill and passion for the game of football and give back to many other players over the years while he coached the various teams that he did. He will be missed.
