Arlene was born on May 24, 1940 in Loyal, Wisconsin, daughter of Arthur Schaefer and Ruth Klann. She was united in marriage to Roger J. Lee on September 3, 1960 in Loyal, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on October 29, 1999. Arlene worked at several places doing secretarial work through her career, for many of her years she worked at the Grant County Sheriff's department. She was a long time member of the Lutheran Church of Peace, Platteville, where she was a very active member, being in the choir, attending bible studies and women's groups. She enjoyed traveling, going for walks, bowling, the outdoors and playing her favorite games of scrabble and sheepshead. She was a member of the “red hat club”. She was a very strong, independent lady with deep faith.

She is survived by her three children, Sharon (Ken) Helbing, Kevin (Tarah) Lee, and Carla (Tony) Jones; nine grandchildren, Krista, Zachary, Jacie (Joren), Brendon, Logan, Austin, Kaiden, Isaac, and Reagan; one sister, Shirley Sloniker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger, her parents and infant brother, Herbert.

The family would like to THANK the staff of Primrose Assisted Living and residents' families that kept Mom's spirit of love and laughter flowing as she dealt with her dementia. Thanks to Pastors Jeff, Mary and Ryan from the First English Lutheran Community, Appleton, for all their support.

My deepest sympathy to Arlene's family. We were good friends and did things together when she was in Platteville. I most remember how she looked forward to our Church Retreats. We had many laughs together. R.I.P. girlfriend.
