Obituary
Laurie M. Crubaugh, 55, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2022, at Lund Home Hospice of the Valley in Gilbert, Arizona, following a courageous battle with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service with burial of the cremains in Calvary Cemetery, Platteville, Wisconsin. Online condolences can be made at melbyfh@gmail.com.
Laurie was born on November 12, 1966, in Platteville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Russell L. and Retha G. (Klinkhammer) Crubaugh. She attended Platteville High School and West Grant High School, graduating in 1985. She worked as a Publication Specialist at General Dynamics Mission Systems in Arizona from 1995 to 2013. She also studied Multimedia at the University of Advanced Computer Technology. Laurie had a passion and talent for crafting and especially quilting. Her dream was to establish a long-arm quilting business and teach online quilting courses. She was on her way to achieving that dream when the symptoms of ALS set in.
Laurie is survived by her three loving children, her son Mitchell Faherty and her daughters Brianna Faherty and Charlee Faherty, all of Mesa, Arizona. She is also survived by her mother Retha (Crubaugh) Mulrooney of Platteville, Wisconsin, her brothers Steve (Ruth) Crubaugh of Waupun, Wisconsin, Mark (Brenda) Crubaugh of Littleton, Colorado, and Jim (Stephanie) Crubaugh of Gilbert, Arizona, and her sisters Jeanne Robinson, Connie (Michael) Moran, Carol (Jeff) Kliebenstein, and Christine (David) Richardson, all of Platteville, Wisconsin, along with many nieces and nephews.
Laurie was preceded in death by her father Russell L. Crubaugh who also was afflicted with ALS and passed away in 1979 and by her step-father Charles A. Mulrooney.
