Obituary
Daniel Clinton Kettler, 70, of rural Platteville, died on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Meriter Hospital, Madison. Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM, Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate. Burial will be at Big Patch Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.
Dan was born on April 2, 1952 in Cuba City, Wisconsin, son of Clinton and Delta (Martens) Kettler. He was united in marriage to Ann Peacock on July 6, 1974 at the United Methodist Church, Platteville. Dan graduated from Platteville High School and attended SWTC, Fennimore, where he took welding. After school he worked for Dean Custer for a brief period making oil refinery containers. Dan then went back and farmed in Elk Grove Twp, Lafayette County, where the farm is in its fifth generation. Dan enjoyed John Deere tractors, especially his own.
Dan is survived by his wife, Ann; son, Brad (Melissa) Kettler; two grandsons, Carter and Tucker Kettler; two brothers, Marvin (Ilene) Kettler and Phil Kettler; three sisters, Anita (Wayne) Carns, Sue Kettler and Faye Kettler; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bev Kettler, Rosemary (David) Duncan and Steve (Karin) Peacock; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Ben, parents, brother, Wayne Kettler, sister, Karen Riemer and her husband, Mick Riemer, great-niece, Kasi Kettler and great-nephew, Josh Skattum.
