Ann Margaret Schreck, age 93 of Platteville, died on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at her home in Platteville.  She was born on August 12, 1929 to Clement and Anna (Keifer) Bussan in Galena, Illinois.  Ann was the youngest of 15 children. She grew up in the Galena area, attending St. Mary's Catholic Grade School, and graduating from the Galena High School in 1947.  She attended Nurse's training, graduating from the Mercy School of Nursing in Dubuque in 1950.  Ann worked as an RN, including the Hazel Green clinic for 14 years, one year at the Richland County Nursing Home, and then 24 years at Boscobel Memorial Hospital.  She assisted with delivering countless babies through the years.  After retiring from the hospital she did a few years of part-time private duty nursing.  In April of 1955 she married James Walter Schreck at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Galena.  They settled in Hazel Green, Wisconsin until 1964 when the family moved to Blue River, Wisconsin, and then in 1992 they moved to Platteville.  Ann loved playing cards, especially Euchre with family.  She loved working outside clearing land.  She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved to travel with her daughter Paula to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, and Hawaii.

Ann is survived by her four children, Paula Schreck of Platteville, Marianne (Jim) Stanek of Richland Center, Judy (John) Powell of rural Gays Mills, and Kip (Aprile) Schreck of Platteville; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Brashaw; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband James Schreck who died on December 31, 2005; a great grandson, Iestyn Powell; and 13 brothers and sisters.

A visitation for Ann Schreck will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Platteville from 10:00 until 11:00 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Platteville.  The Melby Funeral Home is assisting the family.
