Obituary

Kim “Ape” Hill, 57, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at his home of natural causes. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.

“Ape” as he was known was born on August 26, 1965 in Lancaster, Wisconsin, son of James “Jim” and Connie (Helbing) Hill. He attended Potosi Schools and for many years worked at Skyline in Lancaster. Ape for many years also worked at the Char Bar in Platteville. Ape was a “gentle giant” and loved his blackberry with friends. He was a free spirit and enjoyed motorcycles and cars. He is a retired Matador. He especially liked to socialize with all of his friends.

Ape is survived by his father, Jim; brothers, Ken Hill, Kip (Laura) Hill, and Kris Hill; nephew, Tim (Katlyne) Hill; nieces, Sara (Eric) Kriz and Emily (fiancé, Alex Felderman) Hill; great-nieces, Mercer, Lia, Peyton and Palmer; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Connie.
