I remember Cara when she worked at the hospital. She was a lovely person. My deepest sympathies.

Cara was one of the children of my own age that I was acquainted with from very early in life, as her parents, Glenn and Wilma Kemper, were on the next farm to the east of us, near Annaton. The Kempers moved over to New California probably about 1941 or 1942, but our families kept in close touch over the years, and one of the memories I had was of Cara teaching me how to tie my shoes, a task requiring nimble fingers and some patience. I managed to tie several really serious knots before the knack was finally established. We knew each other through years in 4-H (Wilma was one of the adult leaders) and even up into high school, when my folks moved away to Fennimore, and sometime around then Glenn and Wilma retired from the farm and moved to Dodgeville. Sorry to see you go, Cara. You were a good friend way back then. May you take flight with the angels and be a shining example to them all.
