LuElla Grace Erickson, 94, of Madison, Wisconsin died Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Agrace Hospice Care, Fitchburg. Luella was born on March 31, 1929, the daughter of John and Ethel (Henry) Robinson. In 1946, she married Kenneth Taft. Later in 1967 she married Dayton “Swede” Erickson. Luella was a supervisor and care giver at Madison Opportunity Center. Luella enjoyed reading, being around animals and crocheting.
LuElla was survived by her children, Larry Taft, Lois (Tom) Altenburg and James Taft, grandchildren, Justin (Morgan) Taft, Heather Taft, Jason (Mary Beth) Altenburg, Steve (Arti) Altenburg and Julie (Ryan) Anderson, great-grandchildren, Logan, Connor, Brennan, Hayden, Akash and Marlee. She was preceded in death by her husband, “Swede”, son, Harold Taft, parents, brother, Milton Robinson and sister, Martha Hanson.
Private family graveside services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to Agrace Hospice Care. Online condolences may be made at www.melbyfh.com.
