Obituary

Terry L. Monahan, 77, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison. Funeral services will be at Noon, Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville, at a later date. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Terry was born on October 26, 1946 in Shullsburg, Wisconsin son of Morris and Freda (Ubersox) Monahan. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Wilson on February 11, 1967 in Shullsburg. Terry graduated from Shullsburg High School. He was an over the road truck driver for his working career, driving over one million miles while earning multiple safety awards. Throughout his driving career he drove for Mc-Mor-Han Trucking Shullsburg, Wisconsin, Foodliner Dubuque, Iowa and Korth Transfer Reedsburg, Wisconsin until his retirement. Terry enjoyed tending to his yard and took much pride in the appearance of his yard. He enjoyed the holidays, especially Christmas. Holidays bringing the family all together and he enjoyed a good game of quarters. He loved to spend time with his wife (Rose bud), children, grandchildren, and dog (Lilly). He was always kidding around and joking with his loved ones. His laughter was contagious and will be missed. He was a hard worker, great provider and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.

Terry is survived by his wife, Marilyn; four children, Stacey (Jeff) Hentrich, Brian (Ronna) Monahan, Todd (Sarah) Monahan, and Tamara (Jeff) Dietzel; ten grandchildren, Heather and Ryan Hentrich, Trenten Leffler, Nicole, Tiffany and Ashley Monahan, Cole Peña, Bree Monahan and Morgan and Mitchell Dietzel ; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill (Sharon) Monahan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine (Steve) Lane, Eileen (Gary) Engelke, and Pam (Tim) Farnham and nieces and nephews and many friends. Terry had a very special 4 legged friend “Lilly girl”, she will forever miss the scratches and belly rubs. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Bev Monahan, granddaughter, Haley Ann Leffler and father and mother-in-law, George and Theresa Wilson.
