Obituary
Morris P. Schauff, 85, of Platteville, WI passed away Monday, December 11, 2023 at Edenbrook Rehab Facility. Morris was born June 26, 1938, the son of August and Geraldine (Meyer) Schauff. He married Patricia Kaufman April 18, 1959 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glen Haven, WI.
Morris attended Cassville High School and MATC graduating with an associate's degree in plumbing. After school, he worked as a plumber keeping his master's license current even today. He was a faithful Knight's of Columbus member and also a founding member of the Cassville River Kings. Morris loved sports and was an avid fan of both high school and collegiate sports. On top of just being a fan he was a referee for over 40 years. Reffing baseball, football and basketball. He also coached grade school basketball at St. Charles for many years. His hobbies outside of work and sports were hunting and traveling with his family. He loved seeing new places and meeting new people and was known as a “chatter box” to many. His biggest accomplishment though was his children and he loved them dearly.
Morris is survived by his wife, Patricia; his children, Sonya (Dennis) McAfee, Grand Junction, CO, Sandra (Tom) Ackerman, Platteville, WI, Stephen (Janet) Schauff, Cassville, WI, Stacey (Greg) Zurow, Geneva, IL, Stanton, (Catrina) Schauff, McCook Lake, SD, and Shannon (Joe) Vondrum, Lancaster, WI; a son-in-law, Ron Kirschbaum; his siblings, Ken (Sharon) Schauff, Mary Kauffman, Ilene Schauff, and Susan (Fred) Rodriguez; 22 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter Sally Kirschbaum.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 AM, Friday, December 15, 2023 at St. Charles' Catholic Church in Cassville, WI. Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM, Friday before the service at the church. Melby funeral home is assisting the family and online condolences may be left at www.melbyfh.com.
