Obituary
Bruce Elliott Ferrin, age 74 of Platteville, WI passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2023, in his home after a Packer victory surrounded by love. He was born on June 27th, 1949, to Robert Abbott Ferrin and Vera (White) Ferrin. He attended grade school at the Red School in Jenkinsville, WI and graduated from Belmont High School in 1967. After High School he worked alongside his father at Cassidy Farms in the rural Darlington, WI area. He later moved to Mount Horeb, WI in 1985. Where he quickly became one of the most cherished and loved staff members of Mount Horeb High School. After 33 years of hard work and dedication he retired in 2018 from his position of Head Custodian.
Bruce had a heart as big as his smile. His laughter, sense of humor and overwhelming kindness will truly be missed but will never be forgotten. Bruce was an avid sports fan especially when it came to cheering for his favorite teams the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. You would hear the cheers and see that smile from miles away, he never missed a game. There is nothing Bruce loved more than spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Partner, and friend to so many.
Bruce is survived by his son Todd (Ji-Yeon) Ferrin of Barneveld WI; 2 grandsons Dylan and Ethan; his loving partner Linda Anderson (sons Derek and John Diedrichs and Family), sister Patricia (David) Davis; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Abbott Ferrin and Vera Ferrin, two sisters Sylvia Brenden and Susan Ferrin, and his brother Robert (Porky) Ferrin.
The Family would like to thank Upland Hills Hospice for their loving and devoted care given to Bruce during his final days.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, WI. Visitation will be from noon until time of the service which is at 3:00 PM. Reverend Gus Barnes will officiate. Online condolences may be made at www.melbyfh.com.
