Dale Cox

Dale A. Cox, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023 in Madison, Wisconsin, at the age of 58. Born on August 22, 1965 to Mary Ann and Paul Cox in Lancaster, Wisconsin. Dale's life was marked by his unwavering optimism, keen analytical mind, and selfless nature.

Dale graduated from Potosi High School and soon after embarked on a fulfilling career with the Wisconsin State Journal, where he dedicated many years as a Warehouse District Manager.

Family was the cornerstone of Dale's life. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Cox, and his four daughters, Melissa Cox of Columbia City, Indiana, Genny, Jessica, and Carrie Cox, all of Madison, Wisconsin. His joy was multiplied with the birth of his grandchildren, Olivia DeGroff, Aaliyah Turner, and Angel Turner, who will miss their grandfather's warm presence and gentle guidance. Dale was a devoted son to his mother, Mary Ann Cox, and a supportive brother to Karen (Paul) Schmitz of Chili, Wisconsin, and Alan Cox of Nampa, Idaho. Dale was preceded in death by his father: Paul Cox, paternal grandparents: Pearl Cox Johnson and Raymond “Spick” Johnson, his maternal grandparents: Clarence and Elizabeth Klein and two uncles: Loren Conley and David Johnson.

Dale's passion for life extended beyond his family and work. He loved to vacation with his family, creating memories that they will forever cherish in their hearts. His intellectual curiosity was also evident in his love for puzzles, a hobby that provided him with hours of satisfaction.

Those who knew Dale will remember him for his ability to see the good in every situation. His optimistic outlook was contagious, often uplifting those around him during challenging times. His analytical approach to problem-solving was not only beneficial in his career but also in his personal life, where he was the go-to person for advice among his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 9:00AM- 11:00AM at the Melby Funeral Home(1245 N. Water St., Platteville, WI 53818). Funeral services for Dale will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 11:00AM at the Melby Funeral Home (1245 N. Water St., Platteville, WI 53818).
