Obituary

Dolores Louise Fenner, 85, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Saturday, January 13, 2023 after a brief illness. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family. Dolores or “Dee” to many who knew her, was born on March 28, 1938 in Grant County, Wisconsin, daughter of Vincent J. and Dorothy L. (McPhail) Coward. Dolores was married to Donald Bailey and they farmed for many years in Smelser Twp.. She later was united in marriage to Wayne Fenner and he preceded her in death. After moving to town Dolores worked at Fendall and then for many years at the Governor Dodge Hotel, being the head of housekeeping. After retiring from Governor Dodge, Dee did other commercial cleaning to occupy her time. She enjoyed spending time with her dear friends, Karen and Gloria, going to the Senior Center, playing bingo, a good game of cards and a occasional day at the casino.

Dee is survived by her son, Kevin “Beetle” Bailey; stepson, Chad Fenner, step-daughters, Tammie Halverson and Wendy Hicks; sisters, Shirley Long, JoAnn (Mike Campbell) Pippin and Margaret “Peggy” Wilber; brothers, Robert (Joan) Coward and Jeff (Robin) Coward and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Fenner, her parents, brothers, Frederick and James Coward, sisters, Carol Coward, Brenda Coward and Donna Wright.

Dolores was my aunt. She had a huge heart and was always so kind to everyone she met. I will miss spending time with her whether it be watching the Hallmark Channel, making pasty, or playing cards. You will be greatly missed. Love, Tarah

I will miss my best friend...we had a lots of good times together...went out to eat, played bingo, and just sitting around every morning outside chatting and drinking our coffee and wondering what we was going to do the rest of the day. I will truely miss her !! coffee. She was a true friend that was very hard to find
