Ruth J. Dull, 89, of Lancaster, formerly of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at her home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home. Ruth was born on August 30, 1934 in Platteville, Wisconsin, daughter of Harrison James and Clara Anna (Reisen) Sheldon. She was united in marriage to William P. “Bill” Dull on June 21, 1956. She graduated from Platteville High School. For many years she worked at UW-Platteville in the commons as a cook until she retired. Ruth was a humble lady who kept to herself and enjoyed her time at home with her kids and grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Pam (Gary Stanton) Shotliff and Mary (Jim) Buskee; sons, Steve (Ronda Penewell) Dull and Robert (Laura) Dull; son-in-law, Bill Reuter; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Dull, daughter, Sharon Reuter, her parents, sisters, Ethleen Sheldon and Dorothy Schambow and brothers, Donald, Harry, Anson and Kenneth Sheldon.
