Obituary

Thomas “Tom” Richard Rauch, 63, of Friendship, Wisconsin, formerly of Cassville, died on Sunday, February 11, 2024. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 16, 2024 at St. Charles Catholic Church, Cassville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 15, 2024 at the church, and will continue from 10:00 AM until the time of the mass on Friday. The family is requesting people wear casual attire, representing ones favorite state, campground, vacation destination or casino. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family. Memorials may be made to the Thomas Rauch Memorial Fund. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Tom was born on August 9, 1960 in Lancaster, Wisconsin, son of Richard and Arlene (Gengler) Rauch. Tom attended Cassville High School and worked maintenance for many years at Rapid Die & Molding, Cassville, retiring in 2021. Tom was a “Jack of all trades” always working on side jobs and keeping busy helping others. When he was younger he and Sharon owned the Family Cafe, Cassville, and he also cooked at the Anker Inn and Sandbar Bowling & Supper Club. He enjoyed camping, fishing, wood crafts and playing bingo. He especially loved spending time with his children, and grandchildren following them in all of their activities.

Tom is survived by the “Love of his life” Sharon, three sons, Jeremy (Dawn) Schiffman, Andrew (Heather) Rauch and Nick (Emily) Rauch; thirteen grandchildren, Noah (Bryce), Brittney, Zach, Izabell, Kami, Olivia, Hailey, Tysion, Sophie, Ryleigh, Avarie, Malorie and Journee; three sisters, Bernice (Randy) Koelker, Theresa (Bruce) Haas, and Tammy (Clint) Lenzendorf; two brothers, Michael (Lisa) Rauch and Ron (Shelly) Rauch; sister-in-law, Lisa Rauch; brother-in-law- Bill Furemother-in-law, Marian Schiffman and many in laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Rebecca Fure and brothers, Charlie and Donald Rauch, niece, Bonnie Rauch, father-in-law, Doug Schiffman, and beloved dog, Daisey.

So sorry to have read of Tom’s passing. May the joys you knew and the times you shared help comfort you at this sad time. We have received comfort and help from Bible verses such as this one recorded in John 5:28 “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his (Jesus) voice and come out.” May Jehovah the God of all comfort give strength and his love to each of you.

We came back from Alabama to hear the sad news that Tom had passed. He was a wonderful neighbor and we want to extend our sympathy to the Rauch and Schiffman families. May he Rest in Peace.
