Obituary
Lexa Lea (Dobson) Brodbeck peacefully walked into the arms of Jesus on Friday, April 12, 2024 at home with loving family. She was born to Doris and Wilma (Beyer) Dobson in Platteville, Wisconsin, where they resided on a farm near Whig Corners, and later moved to Adams St. where the family owned and operated Dobson's Grocery. Her siblings were Dale, Marcene, James, Judy and Linda.
Lexa graduated from Platteville High School, where band was her favorite. During high school she worked at Dick's Supermarket as a checker. After high school she attended Madison Beauty Academy and worked as a beautician in Lancaster and Platteville. Her interest in Medical Emergency services led her to training future EMT's and earning her CNA and Medication Technician certification. She worked as an EMT for Platteville Ambulance and in Assisted Living Homes in Dubuque, Iowa.
Lexa enjoyed “shopping until you dropped”, traveling, watching Wheel ofFortune and romantic comedies, decorating and very much playing piano from an early age.
She was married to Robert Brodbeck and they has a son, Jason (Tasha), of Jacksonville, FL and a daughter, Lindsay Brodbeck-Piper of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Hannah, Meckenzie, Matthew Piper and Jacobi Xayphanto; great-grandchildren, Ava Carter and Kaiden Piper.
She has been with her beloved partner, Robert “Bob” Holzer, over 30 years residing in Dubuque. Their extended family; daughter, Stephanie (Jerry) Cullen and grandchildren, Alex, Nick, Isabella and special angel, Abbey Cullen, and daughter, Amanda Holzer; sisters, Marcene Duncan and Linda Hanusa, aunt, Ruth McFall, along with many special nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Dale, Jim and sister, Judy Doser, sister-in-law, Sharon and brothers-in-law, Monroe Duncan and Tom Doser, aunt, Gladys Butson.
Memorial services will be at Noon, Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate. Burial will be at Lima Union Cemetery.
