Obituary
Ronald John Udelhofen, age 82, of Potosi, WI passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, September 5, 2024. He was born on August 16, 1942, the son of Bernard and Anita (McReynolds) Udelhofen. Ron graduated from Platteville High School in 1960. He served in the United States Army during the Berlin Airlift in Washington and also served in the Naval Reserves.
On June 20, 1964, Ron married Constance VanNatta and they had a son, Ryan and three daughters, Angela, Nina and Lorjean. On March 18, 1994, Ron married Helen Reynolds. He was employed by Kowalski-Kieler and worked on the barges. Ron later went to work at John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works as a welder for over 38 years. After retiring from John Deere, he enjoyed being a groundskeeper at the Platteville Golf & Country Club.
When not working, Ron enjoyed golfing, horseback riding, fishing, deer hunting, riding his UTV, being with friends and family and enjoying a Kessler and Pepsi. His favorite role was Grandpa. He loved joking and talking with his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, children, Angela (Rick) Cardey, Nina Jakubczak and Lorjean (Cody) Tranel, Debbie (Randy) Liebfried, Doug (Debbie Jo) Dressler and Dennis (Bonnie) Dressler, grandchildren, Jordan, Kaitlyn, Nicholas, Nathan, Erin, Chance, Patti, Becki, Thomas, Eric, Elizabeth, Lucas and Ryan, sister, Phyllis Genthe, sisters-in-law, Doris Udelhofen and Joanne Udelhofen and many nieces and nephews he dearly loved.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his son Ryan, his twin brother Donnie, his brothers, Bob (Florence), Jerry (Marylou) and Jake, sister, Kay Herbsled and brother-in-law Harold Genthe.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Tennyson, WI. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:45 AM Tuesday morning at the church. Father Stephen Brunner will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Ghost Cemetery in Dickeyville, WI.
