Obituary

Parnell M “Parn” Pratt, 68, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at his home of cancer.  Parn was born on February 25, 1956 in Platteville, Wisconsin, the son of Robert and Maxine (Blackbourn) Pratt. 

He graduated from Platteville High School, class of “75”. He was united in marriage to Mary Jo Collins on June 22, 1996, in the front yard of their home in Platteville. Parn was a partner with his father, Bob, for 40 years, owning Badger Roofing. He was an avid reader and enjoyed BS'ing with anyone. He enjoyed hunting, camping, playing pool and especially shooting Fireworks with Platte River Fireworks for many years and spending time with his grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Parn is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; children, Jennifer Pratt, Matthew (Francesca) Pratt, Jenni (Ben) Thomas and Samantha (Brandon) Key; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; Taylor Mullikin, Tanner (Megan) Mullikin and their daughter, Harper, Logan Rice, Jayda Rice and her son, Greyson, Colton Moore, Cameron Moore, Malin Thomas, Logan Thomas, Emilio Pratt and Sarah Pratt.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Penny Koeller, brother, Perry Pratt, and nephew/friend, Rick Koeller. 

A memorial service celebrating Parn's life will be at Noon, Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.  Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Parn was the best brother in law you could have. Him and MaryJo were our best man and matron of Honor. Parn always made you feel at home. He loved to tease.

Sad to hear of Parn's passing. I lived in the apartment above his house for a short time when I was attending college in Platteville. He was always good to talk to when I would bump into him sometimes on my way in or out. God bless, may the Lord be with his family in his passing.
