Obituary

Virginia Lou “Granny” Lemkuil, 87, Cuba City, WI died on Sunday, December 15, 2024.    Virginia was born on February 27, 1937, in East Dubuque, IL, the daughter of Henry and Gertrude (Foht) Timmerman.  She was united in marriage to Harley G. Lemkuil, Sr on June 9, 1962.  Harley preceded her in death on November 30, 1980.  Virginia was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.  For a number of years, she worked for Honeywell Micro Switch in Galena, IL

Virginia enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and watching game shows.  She was a faithful fan, following the Badgers, Bucks and Golden Eagles.  What she enjoyed the most was spending time with family.  

Virginia was survived by her daughters, Gay (Larry) Hinderman and Mary (James) Guerin, her sons, Joseph (Kathy) Albert, Bernard (Lisa) Albert, Mark (Rose) Albert, Harley (Annie) Lemkuil, Jr. and Toby (Sharon) Arthofer, 25 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Joy Albert, parents, her twin, Joan Marie Timmerman, sister, Jeanette “Rosie” Arthofer, brother, Alfred “Alfie” Timmerman and cousin, George Kramer.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville, WI. Rev. Jasmine Tesdahl will officiate.  Burial will be at Carr Cemetery, rural Cuba City.    Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the funeral home, and from 9:00 AM until the time of the service Friday.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.melbyfh.com.
