Clara I. Wolhowe, 101, of Platteville, WI died Wednesday, March 5, 2025. She was born on February 26, 1924 in Oxbow, Saskatchewan, Canada, in her family home, the daughter of Gustav and Irene (Kijak) Ganskop. On June 28, 1946, Clara married the love of her life, Miles V. Wolhowe, in Flaxton, North Dakota. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2009.
As a young married woman, she worked for the Elgin National Watch Company. In 1970, Clara received her Batchelor's degree and in the early 70's her Master's degree, both from the University of Wisconsin in Platteville, WI. She taught in North Dakota in the early years. Clara then raised her family. She taught Kindergarten in Cassville, WI for over 25 years. Clara was a member of the First English Lutheran Church. As a young woman, she enjoyed sewing. Clara enjoyed playing cards in card clubs, especially Bridge.
Clara is survived by her daughters, Katherine (William) Udelhofen and Karen (Dennis) Bausch, grandchildren, Cory (Elizabeth) Bausch, Kelsey (Cadence) Finch, Justin ( Christina) Udelhofen and Brandon ( Ayako) Udelhofen, great-grandchildren, Finley and Scarlett Bausch and Miles Udelhofen and sister-in-law Virginia Ann Stearns. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers, Harold Ganskop and Melvin Ganskop, sisters, Shirley Kuhn and Frieda Mickle.
