Obituary
Lisa A. Wedig, 58, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at her home surrounded by family after a nearly 3 yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer. Lisa was a giving person her whole life and continued that upon her death through organ donation to help others.
Lisa was born on April 13, 1966, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Merlin and Lillian “Lynn” (Seippel) Bertjens. Lisa graduated from Cuba City High School, class of “84” and later from Finley School of Nursing, Dubuque. Lisa was united in marriage to Brian Wedig on September 22, 1990, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Kieler. Her career as a Registered Nurse, a profession she was ardently passionate about, started with doing homecare and later working at Bloomfield Manor, Dodgeville. For many years she worked at Southwest Health Center in Platteville, a setting she really enjoyed.
Lisa enjoyed the outdoors. You could find her tending to her gardens and flowers all summer long. She loved traveling, going on UTV rides, hiking, biking and spending time boating at Apple Canyon Lake. Lisa especially loved spending time with her family.
Lisa is survived by her beloved husband, Brian, four children, Brittany Pusateri, Brandon (Alexandria) Wedig, and their children, Madden and Wes; Tucker Wedig, and Jacob Wedig (Stacia); two sisters, Debbie (Dan) Hoey and Cindy (Ken) Aird; one brother, Steve (Laura) Bertjens; brother-in-law, Nick Loeffelholz; father and mother-in-law, Tom and Rita Wedig and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Merlin and Lillian “Lynn” Bertjens and sisters, Michelle Kaiser and Diane Loeffelholz
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Kieler. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 6:00 PM, Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, where there will be a rosary at 2:45 PM. Private burial will be at a later date at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Elk Grove Twp. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.
