Obituary

Richard Lee Loeffelholz, 70, of Platteville, WI passed away on March 30, 2025. He was born on June 9, 1954, to Carol (Edge) and Andrew Loeffelholz. A proud graduate of Platteville High School's Class of 1972, Richard dedicated his life to hard work and community.

 A lifelong milk hauler, Richard spent the past 46 years as the owner and operator of Loeffelholz Trucking, serving his community with dedication and trustworthiness. On May 26, 1979, he married the love of his life, Mary Jo, and together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories.

 Richard is survived by his stepchildren, Connie Dettman and Mike Karnopp; grandchildren, Alyssa (Mike) Hawkins and Wade (Jocelyn) Dettman; and three great-grandchildren, Addison, Esperanza and Bennett. He is also survived by his mother, Carol Loeffelholz; brothers Jim, Tim (Kristi), and Larry (Lori); and sister Mary (Joe) Hagen and many nieces and nephews who looked up to him.

 A private service for family will be held at Melby's Funeral Home followed by burial at Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to community projects in Richard's honor. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

 Richard will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, quiet strength and generous, kind-hearted spirit.

Our deepest sympathies to the family. He was a truly dedicated milk haulers and served our family for many years. I missed seeing him for his morning breakfast at Kwik Trip food his Persian, breakfast sandwich and coffee, and always a big smile. He was the best!

Worked with Dick at the Cuba City milk pumpover station for 13 years and he had me on his bowling team for a few years. Great guy!!!
