Janice Kay (Klein) Hubbard, 87, of Platteville, Wisconsin, passed away on April 14th, 2025, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. The family will be having a private graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery in Platteville. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family. Janice was born on November 21, 1937, in Grant County WI, the daughter of Leo and Jessie (Bell) Klein. She graduated from Platteville High School in 1955. After high school, she was united in marriage to her husband of 66 years, Herbert (Tobe) Hubbard. After getting married on July 26, 1958, they built a life together and had four sons. Janice spent most of her younger years perfecting the best chocolate chip cookie and pancake recipes, dancing in Rockville with Tobe, tending to her flower beds, and trying to keep her boys out of trouble. In her later life, she and Tobe enjoyed many car cruises, antiquing, and playing euchre with the gang.
Janice is survived by her husband, Tobe Hubbard; three children: Doug Hubbard, Mark Hubbard, and Greg (Jill) Hubbard; five grandchildren: Melissa (Ben) DeWitt, Hunter (Brooklyn) Hubbard, Shelby (Josh) Jordee, Baily (David) Statz, Rylee Hubbard and two great-grandchildren: Brandt DeWitt and Jackson Jordee. Janice was further survived by her brother Vernelle Klein, sister-in-law Ruth Klein, brother-in-law Jerry (Pat) Hubbard, sister-in-law Lorraine Jaques, and many nieces and nephews. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, son Michael Hubbard (in infancy), grandson Brian Hubbard, daughter-in-law Judy Hubbard, brothers: Herbert (Dorothy) Klein, Merle (Alice) Klein, and Bill Klein, sisters: Sandy (Jim) Vondrum, Jane (Parnell) Pluemer, and sister-in-law Lorita Klein.
Janice's family would like to thank Patty Reuter and the staff at Agrace Hospice, especially Olivia Webster and Heather Bowles-Van Wyk, for all the love and care during the last few months. Melby Funeral Home will be assisting the family.
