Ron was born on November 13, 1943, in Lancaster, Wisconsin, son of Joseph and Marcella (Mumm) Breuer. He served in the United States Navy from 1961 – 1963 where he specialized in Naval intelligence while stationed in London, England.  He was united in marriage to Sherilynn “Sheri” Gelbach on October 18, 1969, at St. Charles Catholic Church, Cassville, Wisconsin.  Ron worked for John Deere starting at the Moline, Illinois plant and then the Dubuque Works plant.  He retired after 38 years of service where he was a mill operator.

Ron loved to hunt, fish and garden.  After retirement he was very involved in the Platteville Farmers Market.  He was known for his peppers that he grew and then made into seasonings.  The hotter and spicier, the better.  Ron also had the knack for growing some of the best garlic around.
