Robert Weigel

Robert Donald Weigel, 68, of Belmont, WI died Monday, May 26, 2025.  He was born July 8, 1956, the son of Donald and Kathleen (Hartnett) Weigel.   Robert graduated from Belmont High School in 1974.  He was united in marriage to Kim Marzofka at the United Methodist Church in Platteville, WI.

Robert drove a milk truck in his younger years and enjoyed showing his children his routes when they were growing up.  He worked in maintenance at Honeywell (Fendall) for almost 30 years and was very close to his work family.  Robert also helped Captain Clean with his cleaning service.  He was a member of the Belmont Fire Department for many years.  Robert was a huge fan of NASCAR, the Green Bay Packers and PBR Rodeos on TV.  He also enjoyed Ranger rides on the local trails and pulling garden tractors with his brother Ron.  Robert's greatest joy was being a Papa!

Robert is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Weigel and her daughter, Ashlyn Weigel and a son, Jeremy Weigel, sisters, Kaye (Greg) Gempler, Jackie Damm and Kris (Blaine) Forseth, brother Ron Weigel and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Deb (David) Kobbervig.

A Celebration of Robert's Life will be held from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Belmont Community Center in Belmont, WI.  Melby Funeral Home & Crematory of Platteville, WI is serving the family.  Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.
