I had the great experience of building houses with Gene and Jon Trankle in the 90's in and around Dodgeville. Gene was quite a card, and me being sort of a newbie to the trades, took me under his wing to share in a lot of what he had learned about being a carpenter. He was always concerned about the right way to do things, and I have valued his guidance throughout my carpentry career. I'm going to miss you Gene, rest in peace my friend.
