Lorene Dorothy (Voigts) Klinge passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 100.  Lorene was born on April 2, 1925, in rural Belmont, Wisconsin, daughter of Harry & Helen (Gratz) Voigts.  She was united in marriage to Leo Henry Klinge on December 11, 1946, who preceded her in death on April 10, 2000.

Leo & Lorene farmed in the Belmont area until 1976 when they retired and moved into their home in Belmont.  She resided at Edenbrook, Platteville, since 2018.

Lorene is survived by her three daughters, Joyce Stephens, Linda (Jim) Digmann, and Lori (Dirk) LaVoy, her grandchildren Mary (Bryan) Whitfield, Sara (Shawn) Berman, Kirsten (Michael) Shipway, Dustin Digmann, Joni (Perry) Klinge-West, Jeri (Rich) Brey, Christie (CJ) Saunders, and Kevin (Heather) LaVoy, 16 great-grandchildren, her sister Lucille Kies, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Leo, son Joel Klinge, her parents, brothers Guerdon and Arnold Voigts, and sisters Irma Schambow and Velma Masbruch. Her passions were playing cards, taking care of her home, gardening, the Green Bay Packers, and cooking.   She was famous for her cinnamon rolls, which were always made and ready for all visitors.  Her family fondly remembers her for many family meals with a variety of favorite dishes; she was a great cook.

A private family memorial service will be held at Melby Funeral Home & Crematory.  Burial will be at the Belmont Cemetery.  Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Rest in peace Aunt Lorene. I'll always remember what fun it was staying at your home and playing with Joyce, Linda, Joel and Lori. I especially liked paying Red Rover, Red Rover.

Dear Joyce, Linda and Lori, Bob and I extend to you our deepest sympathy in the loss of your mother. A mother’s love is one of the greatest blessings on earth. The Lord granted her such a long life, making the loss all the greater. We also want to extend our sympathy as well in the loss of your bother Joel. I just recently heard of his passing as well. It has been over 50 years since we’ve been together. I pray we’ll all meet once again in heavenly glory if not before. With love and prayers, Your Cousin, Marlyn (Kabele) Johnston (in North Dakota)
