Susan Abing

Susan E. Abing, 77, of Platteville, died Friday, July 4, 2025.  She was born on December 4, 1947, the daughter of William H. and Louella I. (Albright) Snell in Ohio.

On October 4, 1974, Susan was united in marriage to John Abing in Roanoke, VA.  Susan had attained her Masters degree from University of Miami, Ohio. She and her husband John lived many places for John's job including West Virginia, Michigan, and Mexico. In 1980, they bought a house in Platteville Wisconsin and raised their family. She became the Driver's Education teacher for the Potosi and Monroe School Districts until her retirement 2006.

Susan is survived by her husband, sons, Dean and Jonathan (Lori) Abing, grandson, Donald “Donnie” Abing, sister, Jane Capps and brother, John (Joyce) Snell.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary Snell, and sister Elanor Edwards.

Per Susan's wishes, there will not be any formal services.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Platteville at a later date.

There will be a celebration of her life on September 21 at the Broske center in Platteville from 12:00 - 3:00. Feel free to bring any stories and photos you would like to share with the family.
