Obituary

Robert “Bobby” E. Dalen, 58, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Monday, December 29, 2025, at UW-Hospital, Madison, from an apparent heart attack.  “Bobby” as so many knew him by was born on November 27, 1967, in Platteville, Wisconsin, the son of Francis and Jeanette (Dailey) Dalen.

Bobby graduated from Platteville High School.  He was a hard worker and willing to help everyone.  Bobby spread so much laughter and cheer throughout Platteville.  He loved watching and cheering for the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers.  

Bobby was everyone's best friend.  His life taught us that worth is not measured by ability, but by the love we give and receive.

Bobby is survived by his girlfriend, Michelle, his sister, Renee (Michael) Miller, lifelong friend and guardian, Dale Jacobs, niece, Ashley, nephew, Anthony, many cousins and all of his 2nd Street Family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and nephew, Trevor.

A visitation celebrating Bobby's life will be from 10:00 AM – Noon, Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, and will continue after that at Brother's Bar until 2:00 PM, where there will be a light luncheon.  Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Bobby through organ and tissue donation will continue to give his kindness and unselfishness to others!!

I never saw Bobby without a smile on his face. When my husband and I would see him while walking our dog, Bobby would always stop to lavish love on the dog and have a quick visit with us. We will miss him.

Amber & I always enjoyed Bobby's happy go lucky attitude and smile! Whether it was in the salon for a haircut or out and-about, he always left with a smile or a kind word. He'll be missed!
