Obituary

Marvin D. Ogden, 86, of Belmont, Wisconsin, died on Sunday, January 11, 2026, surrounded by his family.  Marvin was born on December 14, 1939, in Valentine, Nebraska, the son of Cecil and Wilberta (Burger) Ogden.  When he was nine, he and his family moved to Wisconsin.

Marvin graduated from Platteville High School in 1957.  He was united in marriage to Connie Tindell on May 12, 1962.  He served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Pearl Harbor, where he was an electronic technician aboard the U S S Stark Country.  He worked as an electrician for many years, and later he worked for Premier Coop until his retirement.  Marvin enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, and bird watching.

Survivors include his children, Carrie (Kenny) Weigel, Kevin Ogden, Ted (Holly) Ogden, Chrissy (John) King; nine grandchildren, Nicole, Bristol, Jamie, Adam, Isabella, Landon, Kailey, Makaya and Austin; 6 great-grandchildren, ; his siblings, Jerry (Mary) Ogden, Kathy, MaryAnn (Bob) Linda, Pat (Merl), Joyce (Rick). He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Kent Ogden and Kelly Tindell, brothers, Larry, Jim, Bob and sisters, Janet and Vicky.

In keeping with Marvin's wishes there will be no formal services.  A private family burial will be at the Carmel Cemetery, rural Rewey, Wisconsin.  The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family.  Memorials may be made to Agrace Hospice Care in Marvin's name, PO Box 245, Platteville, WI 53818.  Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I had seen Marvin and knew he was doing well. We will be in the new Free Methodist building on 01/18/2026.

My sympathy to Marvs family. We were classmates at PHS. Kept in touch thru the years. He always teased me that he always knew how old I was.Over a quite drink together. Marv was a great person and always had a kind word to say. He will be missed

Always enjoyed my visits with Marv. The longer I knew him the more we would visit. Sorry for your loss.
