Delbert and my dad Roy made lots of memories together on so many fishing trips. I can remember Delbert sitting at the kitchen table with a beer and telling lots of stories. He was so good to my dad and I always appreciated that. So sorry to hear of his passing.

Our Condolences to Delbert’s family. I have fond memories of Delbert when they lived in Rewey, right behind the Moffett Grocery store, the Rewey Mercantile. When I had a paper route for the Telegraph Hearld from Dubuque, Delbert was a customer – but he rarely paid, because when I went to collect, we would play “black jack” for the weekly paper. It was always a challenge for me. I recall, the hours of Rewey Fast Pitch softball games, Delbert was the catcher, and somehow, he got a lot of batters to swing at a pitch - when they should not have. He was awesome. Rest-in-peace, my friend! Ed Moffett

Always enjoyed visiting with Delbert. I remember when he retired we at Big Jim's gave him orange boots and a orange robe. So he could be safe getting to the mailbox. Nice man
