Carolyn Woodward

Carolyn (Eastlick) Woodward passed away peacefully at Edenbrook in Platteville, WI. Born May 4, 1934, in Platteville, WI. Daughter of Purl & Lillie (Stanton) Eastlick. United in marriage to Kenneth L. Woodward on May 27, 1953, at Mt. Zion Church in Cornelia, WI.

Carolyn was the first daughter of 9 siblings and, as in those days, she helped raise her younger siblings. At 14 she left home to work on a farm, which was just the beginning of many career paths. Including a Dime Store, ironing clothes, Banworth & Udelhoven, & cleaning homes. She loved to tell how she cooked at UWP Glenview Commons while the Chicago Bears were practicing there. This is how she proudly turned her Grandsons into lifelong Bears fans. During this all she raised 2 children, took care of her Mother & Sister, kept a huge garden, canned vegetables, enjoyed cooking & baking for extended family, and extending invitations to her nieces & nephews to live on their farm during summer breaks.

Carolyn loved taking memorable motorcycle trips throughout the USA with her husband, brother Dale, & sister-in-law Cynda. She had a variety of hobbies throughout her years, including knitting, baking, cooking, boating, fishing, painting, and keeping up with Kenny's latest adventure find. Nothing made her happier than watching her children succeed in their lives & businesses. Later in life she was often found at “Woody's Mobil” (Belmont, WI) or “The Friendly Place-Mobil” (Livingston, WI) cleaning, organizing, & chatting with customers.  She also took pride in volunteering at Mount Zion Congregational United Church of Christ, Platteville United Methodist Church, Platteville Thrift Store, The Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums, WI Badger Camp, Grant County Hospice, and donating 16 gallons of blood. 

Carolyn is survived by her Daughter; Kristi (Tim) Loeffelholz, Daughter-In-Law; Deb (Langkamp) Woodward. Grandchildren; Kimberly (Joey) Bayer, Patrick (Brittany) Loeffelholz. Great-Grandchildren; Owen Woodward, Treaton, Trinity, & Taytum Loeffelholz. Brother-In-Law; Bob Straight. Sister-In-Laws; Cynda Eastlick, Karen Eastlick, Joan (John) Conners, & Bertha Woodward. And many, many beloved Nephews & Nieces. 

Carolyn is preceded in death by her Husband; Kenneth, Son; Kevin “Woody” Woodward, Grandson; Ryan Woodward. Her Parents. Brothers; Earl (Shirley), Leroy, Ralph (Ruby), Dale, Lyle “Sy”, & Bernie. Sisters; Ruth, Fava Jean (Fred) Charles, & Betty Straight. Sister-In-Laws; Rozella (Nelson) Spease, Loretta (Donald) Richter, Ruth (Maynard) Bockhop, & Viola (Merlyn) Kuehl. Brother-In-Law; Lester Woodward.

Funeral service will be at 4:00 PM, Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.  Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate.  Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Cornelia, Wisconsin, at a later date. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.  Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com
