Obituary

Kevin Joseph Reed, 68, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. There will be no formal services. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Kevin was born on November 5, 1957, in Platteville, the son of Thomas and Dorothy (Langkamp) Reed, Sr. he graduated from Platteville High School and enlisted in the United States Navy. Kevin served in the United States Navy for four years.

He is survived by his two daughters, Molly Reed and Mariah (Chris) Wander and their mother, Susan; five grandchildren; three sisters, Catherine (Michael) Pond, Janet Pariza, and Sharon (Fred) Peska; three brothers, Michael (Sandi), Terry (Barbara) and Dennis (Barbara); sisters-in-law, Margaret and Deborah Reed; and many nieces and nephews. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Alan and Thomas, Jr.

In Kevin’s life, before a noticeable change in personality following a truck accident, he was a wonderful son, brother,husband and father. We, his family, have mourned his loss for some time now. He was then and is still very loved by many! Rest in peace, Kevin!

Keven was a good neighbor and friend to my son and I. I always looked forward to chatting with him almost daily when I left for work or came home. You could always count on him to say exactly what he thought which most people didn’t seem to like, but I admired he definitely stood firm on what he believed to be correct and honorable. He talked about his daughters often and his days in the navy and loved feeding/ watching the birds and watching the deer. And he hated the squirrels. Anyway rest in peace my friend you will be missed
