EDITH OLTHAFER

My husband Richard and I drove from Ohio to see talk and encourage Edith family in her recent passing. She was a remarkable lady. Resilient hard working she and her husband George raised 6 unique and remarkable people. After both of my parents passed I felt like an orphan for a time. I think of them often and reflect on the best of what they instilled in me and give grace to cover the rest. Edith was kind person to me. Interested in us and the lives of our 2 children Duke and Summer. And she treated my mother in law ( Eva) well. Peace and comfort to all who knew Edith.

Edith was a lovely person and always a pleasure to be with. After she could not come to church I started visiting her to bring communion. She always had coffee and cookies waiting. We would play Chinese Checkers for 2 or 3 hours. It was such a pleasure to spend time with Edith. My late husband Keith always enjoyed conversations with Edith, and I am certain that he was there to welcome her to her heavenly home. Rest in Peace Edith!

Edith and I connected because we both loved her friend and my favorite aunt Edna. It was so fun when we shared stories. Edith was a lovely lady who I will always remember fondly.

What an amazing woman Edith was, and a dear friend. I so looked forward to every time we met, if it were at Dick’s or PEO meetings, we always had the nicest visits. She was a best example of an accomplished lady. 💙

Edith is my Father’s sister. As a youth I always enjoyed visiting with Edith and her family on the farm. Edith made the world’s best “Turkey Hash”. Edith would tell me about my father which I was always grateful. In Edith’s later years my wife Sarah and I would have great conversations about God and the Bible. We loved her and will miss her and will see her again in Heaven. Richard and Sarah Gobrecht.
