William "Bill" Hughes

William “Bill” Hughes, age 71, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday October 2, 2026 at his home. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Bill cooked for many fine restaurants around the country but is best remembered as the long-time co-owner and chef at the Arthur House Restaurant and Supper Club in Platteville.

Bill is survived by his wife Deb Hughes, his mother Bernice Hughes, sisters Mary (Richard "Rich") Annen and Sharon (Nasser) Hughes, brothers John Hughes and Michael "Mike" (Laura) Hughes, and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert "Bob" Hughes and his brother, James “Jim” Hughes.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life to be held on Sunday October 25 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Crossroads Supper Club and Banquet Hall, 9315 Hwy 80 North, Platteville WI. In lieu of flowers, please share a meal with loved ones at a local restaurant.
