Dennis J. Becker

Dennis John Becker, 71, of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, after a long bout with diabetes.  Memorial services will be at 6:00 PM, Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.  Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville, at a later date.  Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.  Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Dennis was born on June 11, 1955, the son of DeForest and Bertha (Ohlert) Becker in Platteville.  He was the 12th child born to the family. 

Dennis graduated from Platteville High School and then attended culinary school.  He worked at many local restaurants until his diabetes forced him to retire.  He continued to take great pleasure in cooking for his family, friends and neighbors, particularly those at his apartment complex in Madison.  Dennis was a true and caring friend to all.  He also always had a joke for everyone. 

Dennis is survived by his sisters, Virginia Andrew, Karen Hoffman, Kathryn (Frank) Beyer, and Bonnie (Maria) Becker; brother, Jim (Pat) Becker, sisters-in-law, Barb Becker, Linda Becker, and Vi Becker; brother-in-law, Marshall Hoffman; and many nieces and nephews.  Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Phillip Klein, brothers Roger, Tom, Dan, Mike his wife, Deb, and sister, Janet, along with brothers-in-law, Orlin Andrew and Wayne Hoffman.
