Obituary

Anna Vosberg, age 92, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, at home on the family farm.

Anna was born June 27, 1933, in Shullsburg, WI. She was the daughter of farmers Levi “Daniel”, and Mary Jane (O’Brien) Keyes. She was the youngest of nine children, and attended a one-room schoolhouse. She later attended St. Matthew’s Catholic School and graduated in 1951 from Shullsburg High School, where she was an outstanding student. On May 6, 1952, she married Francis “Sonny” Vosberg. Their first home was in Quantico, VA where Francis was stationed in the Marines. Anna often spoke fondly of the adventure of taking her first train ride to join him there. They moved to their family farm in Platteville in 1954, and through hard work, they began growing their farm along with their family.

Anna was well loved by many and known for her Irish smile, her kindness, her intellect, and her quick wit. She was a long-time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she was a member of the CCW and a sacristan. In addition to working on the farm, she also ran the family’s store in Hazel Green and volunteered at the Platteville Thrift Shop. Anna enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, and square dancing. She loved playing Euchre, and though she taught all of her children to play, they rarely beat her.

Anna’s high school dream was to have a large family, which she accomplished. She is survived by her children Barb (Paul ) Buetow-Roemer, Bob (Mary Pat) Vosberg, Jim (Michele) Vosberg, Jack (Janice) Vosberg, Laurie (Ken) Greco, Phil (Laura) Vosberg, Mark (Amy Gebhart) Vosberg, Joan (Doug) Christianson, Ellie (Tom) Ruppenthal, Janet (Craig) Hardy, Peggy (Clay) Blohm, Dan (Pauline) Vosberg, Steve (Sarah) Vosberg, and Kara (JC) Warren.

She is also survived by her sister Lois Goc, her son-in-law Brian Kruckenberg, 31 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, in-laws, Jeanette Wallenhorst, Joe and Rose Vosberg, Mary Ann Henry and Ken and Jean Nodolf and many nieces and nephews.
