Addison Nicholson

Addison L. “Addie” Nicholson, 60, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Sunday, June 7, 2026.  Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.  Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville, where Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 42 & VFW Post 5274.  Visitation will be held from Noon until the time of the service.  Online condolences can be made at www.melbyhfh.com.

Addison, or “Addie” as many referred to him, was born in Rockford, Illinois, on March 26, 1966, the son of Paul and Sandra (Wheeland) Nicholson.   He graduated from Lancaster High School, class of 1985.  He joined the National Guard in 1985 and did his basic training in Missouri.  Addie was deployed to Iran, Desert Storm in 1991.  After being honorably discharged, he worked in food service industry for many years.  He was a private, humble man who enjoyed fishing, doing puzzles.

He is survived by his mother, Sandra; two brothers, Timothy and Paul; sister, Christina (Adrian Heft); and nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.  He was preceded in death by his father, Paul, maternal and paternal grandparents, and aunts and uncles. 

The family would like to THANK the William S. Middleton VA Hospital, Madison, the Harmony House of Dubuque and St. Croix Hospice for all the care for making Addison’s last days peaceful.
