Wayne C Sieling, age 80, of Belmont, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Wayne was born on September 12, 1945, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, to Harold and Helen (Larson) Sieling. He was a proud graduate of Union Valley Grade School and Highland High School. Following high school, Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he attended USAF Air Police Tech School. Wayne often said he graduated from the “school of hard knocks” and took great pride in the fact he never collected a day of unemployment.
On May 16, 1970, Wayne was united in marriage to Sandra “Sandy” Reddy. Together they built a life centered on hard work, family and faithfulness to one another. Wayne worked at Stoughton Trailers in Stoughton Wisconsin for nearly twenty-three years while also farming on the weekends. In December 1990, he left Stoughton and moved to the family farm in Belmont, where he continued doing what he loved.
Wayne enjoyed woodworking, tending to his garden, and spending time with his family. In retirement, Wayne and Sandy especially enjoyed traveling together and making memories with those they loved most.
Wayne is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Sandy; his children Christine (Lee) and Jason (Corrie); his grandchildren, Alyssa (Daniel), Devin (Sara), Austin (Nicole), and Blake; his great grandson, Hayden, with another expected in August. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Pat Sieling, along with nephews, cousins, and friends. Wayne was proceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen Sieling; his father and mother-in-law, Roy and Ruth Reddy; and his brother Robert Sieling.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 AM on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Melby Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville, WI. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Platteville with Graveside Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post #42 and V.F.W. Post #5274. The visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace Hospice, 5395 East Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg WI 53711. Wayne will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his service to his country, his love of the land, and the deep devotion he had for his family. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished by those who knew and loved him.
