Suzanne M. Larson

Suzanne M. Larson, 80, of Dubuque, Iowa, formerly of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Monday, October 19, 2026, at her home in Dubuque following a long illness.  She was born on October 9, 1946, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, the daughter of William A. and Charlotte A. (Holzer) Hying.  She was united in marriage to Charles “Pete” Larson on January 2, 1965, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Platteville. 

 Suzanne graduated from Platteville High School.  Suzanne worked for the Platteville Telephone Company for 17 years, then for the City of Platteville, in City Hall, for 22 years up until she retired.  She enjoyed crocheting, and watching her soap operas.  Suzanne especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren and following them with their activities.

She is survived by three children, Craig (Angel) Larson, Laurie (Ryan) Graney and Wendy (Kelly) Hoffman; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Greg (Marlene) Hying, Dennis Hying, Rosenna Wetter, Marilyn (Tom) Brugger, and Bill (Judy) Hying and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Chad Larson and her parents.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 24, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Platteville.  Visitation will be from 4:00 -7:00 PM, Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville where there will be a rosary at 3:45 PM, visitation will continue on Saturday from 10:00 Am until the time of the mass at the church.  Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.
