Renee Spensley

Renee F. Spensley, 60, of Platteville, WI died Sunday, May 10, 2026 after a brief illness at SSM Health- St. Mary’s, Madison. Renee was born December 15, 1965, the daughter of Eugene and Wanda (Duncan) Bartow. 

Renee graduated from Platteville High School in 1984.  Renee married Mark Spensley at the United Methodist Church, Platteville, on May 16, 1992.  She was employed by Advance Transformer for 12 years.  Renee began working for Land’s End in 1997 where she worked in Corporate Sales and the Embroidery Department.

Renee enjoyed taking her mom to the Q Casino for financial therapy, playing the buffalo slot machines being the favorite.  She was the best “Nana” and loved to tend to her family.  Renee liked decorating, tending to her flower garden, cooking and was considered a dessert master.  She was always available to lend an ear to anyone needing to talk.  Renee had a great sense of humor, was very quick witted and honest. 

Renee was survived by her husband, Mark, children Casey (Emily) Spensley and Kelsey (Nate) Baliff, grandchildren, Peyton Spensley, Brooklyn, Jada and Alaina Baliff, bonus son, Jamal McNair, mother, Wanda Bartow, sister, Rhonda (Brad) Burbach, brothers, Randy (Kathy), Rick (Barb), Rod and Ryan (Tricia Loso) Bartow, brothers and sisters-in law, John Spensley, Donna (Jim) Lawinger, JoAnne Spensley, Tom (LuAnn) Spensley and Diane Spensley-Machado and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Bartow, cousin, Marcia (Rick) Dailey and father and mother-in-law, Donald and Jean Spensley.

A Celebration of Life will be held from Noon to 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Sunset Lanes in Dickeyville, WI.  Melby Funeral Home & Crematory of Platteville, WI is serving the family.  Online condolence can be made at www.melbyfh.com
