Mark was born on May 24, 1948, in Lafayette County, Wisconsin, the son of Howard and Margaret (Engelke) Moody. Mark was united in marriage to Connie E. Mook on May 26, 1973, at Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont.
Mark graduated from Belmont High School, class of ’66, where he stayed committed to the school and was a proud member of the Booster program. He worked for over 45 years in construction for Burnham Lumber in Rewey, Wisconsin. He was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church in Belmont. He enjoyed bowling—proudly rolling a 300—traveling, and going to the casino for a little financial therapy now and then. He was a loyal Wisconsin sports fan, cheering on the Badgers, Packers, Brewers, and Bucks.
Mark loved to share the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, always sharing their successes with pride. He especially cherished the annual fishing trips to Nekoosa with them, where the memories made on the water became some of the family’s favorites to look back on. He enjoyed finding a good card game and sharing the laughs and stories that always came with it. Though soft‑spoken, Mark had a gentle way of making people feel welcome and understood. His quiet humor, steady presence, and genuine kindness touched everyone who spent time with him.
Mark is survived by his wife, Connie; two children, Michelle (Joel) Bartlett and Bryan (Melanie) Moody; seven grandchildren, Isaac, Micah, Joshua, and Abigail Bartlett, and Aiden, Ethan, and Ashton Moody; brother, Tom (Mary Alice) Moody; sisters, Dee Kamps and Mardele (Buzz) Peterson; sisters‑ and brothers‑in‑law, Dorothy Moody, Raymond (Dottie) Mook, Deborah (Calvin) Heister, Michael Mook, and Susan Magby; special friends, Carl (dec’d) and Kathy Hall, and Jim and Marcia Gray; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Margaret, brothers, Paul, John, and Jim, mother and father-in-law Ray and Betty Mook, sisters-in-law Sharon Mook, Marilyn Moody and Marie Moody and brother-in-law George Kamps.
