Joyce E. Alt, 94, of Platteville, WI died Wednesday, March 18, 2026. She was born on September 8, 1931 the daughter of Guerdon and Florence (Lyght) Reed, on the family farm 2 miles west of Union, WI. Joyce attended Henry Country School for 8 years and graduated from Platteville High School in 1949. In August of 1950, she married Jerry Alt at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Platteville, WI. Joyce was a loyal waitress at Ed’s Café, in Platteville, for over 50 years.
Joyce is survived by her children, Terry Anne (Brian) Stannard, Allen (Sonja) Alt and Susan (Douglas O.) Nodolf, grandchildren, Christa (Pete) Weghorn, J.D. (Nikki) Nodolf, Danielle (Rusty) Lynch, Nicole Stannard, Allison (Wells) Littlefield, Elise (Adam) Burghout, Jenny Nodolf, Mike (Molly) Nodolf, Lisa Nodolf and Tim Carey, great-grandchildren, Brendan and Brock Lynch, Jade and Madison Nodolf, great grandchildren, Makayla (Brady)Rieken, Jackson Nodolf-Carey, Mitchell Kautz, Morgan Nodolf, Mallory, Mitchell and Marshall Nodolf, Brayden and Isabel Burghout, step great-great grandchildren Brier and Boyer Garvey and Haven and Harlow Rieken, sisters, Marlene Winkers and Betty (Bob) Whitaker, brothers, Jim Reed, Roger (Jane) Reed, Steve “Savage” Reed, Larry (Patty) Reed and Creg (Patti) Reed. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerry, infant son Douglas Michael, daughter, Pam and son-in-law Doug Nodolf, granddaughter, Jaime Nodolf, brothers Guerdon Jr. and Bob Reed, sisters, Ruth Kath, Patricia Reuter and Kathryn Schwab and great granddaughters, Faith Lynch and Samantha Nodolf-Carey.
Funeral services will be at Noon on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville, WI. The visitation will be on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Deacon Bill Bussan will officiate. Burial will be in the Belmont Cemetery. Following the committal service, you are invited to join the family for lunch at Ripper’s in Belmont, WI
